Changing seasons

When we arrived in France in June the days were very long and temperatures usually in the late 20s or early 30s. The surrounding fields were full of bright sunflowers that turned to face the sun throughout the day and ensured even an unseasonally cloudy day looked full of sunshine.

But now the days are getting shorter and the nights longer. The temperatures are now in the late teens at best and the fire is needed most nights to take the chill from the air. I'm looking forward to experiencing Autumn and Winter in France but I miss the fields of yellow sunflowers now that they have turned black!
